<p>Taiwan Today is the nation’s premier Internet-based news outlet, providing comprehensive coverage Monday through Friday of the latest business, cultural and political developments. Launched June 1, 2009, TT publishes&nbsp;six stories per day, plus an assortment of photographs from across the nation. This comprehensive snapshot is supplemented by a weekly package comprising editorial, commentaries, political cartoon and features. The archives of forerunner Taiwan Journal further bolster this service, while chronicling the country’s cultural, economic and social development. <BR>

<P>TT’s readers include media professionals, government officials, politicians, academics, business leaders and those seeking an accurate and balanced view of Taiwan.&nbsp;<BR></P><BR>
<H4>History</H4>
<P>TT is a relaunch of Taiwan Journal, an English-language weekly newspaper first published in 1964. TJ’s print and online versions were published on a weekly basis, with special editions produced for National Day and other important events. TJ ceased publication May 22, 2009.<I>&nbsp;TT </I>dates back to March 1, 1964 when it began publication as Free China Weekly<EM>.</EM> The paper’s mission was to deliver the government’s message to the world. On Jan. 1, 1984 it was renamed Free China Journal and then Taipei Journal Jan. 7, 2000<I>.</I> In March 2003, it was changed to Taiwan Journal. <BR>　 </P>
