The Ministry of Transportation and Communications Tourism Administration office in Los Angeles, U.S., set up a Taiwan booth at the Taiwan Expo USA 2025. The expo took place Aug. 14-16 in Dallas, Texas and was co-organized by Ministry of Economic Affairs and the MOEA-sponsored Taiwan External Trade Development Council.
Tea was promoted at the expo by Thomas Shu, who has had three decades of experience in the trade. As well as offering tea-tasting to visitors, Shu also gave a talk about tea as a way to understand land and culture, Aug. 15 on the main stage.
An artificial intelligence area at the pavilion gave visitors a high tech way to create a souvenir image of themselves in a Taiwan landscape. In addition, a touch screen interactive tour guide gave information on food, cultural festivals, travel resources and sights.
Vivian Lin, director of TA Los Angeles office, encouraged visitors to take a trip to Taiwan. There are 170 weekly direct flights from the north American area to Taiwan, with more set to launch in October, making it a convenient destination, she noted. (POC-E)
