LIAO Chi-chun, now 60, pursues new ideas, although he belongs to the older generation of Chinese artists. Born in central Taiwan and schooled at the Japanese Notional University of Fine Arts, he has taught in the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Taiwan Provincial Normal University for the lost ten years. He leaves in March for a tour of the United States and Europe. Although he limits himself to still life and landscapes, his free brush strokes impart a fluidity of movement to static subjects.
