According to the TAICCA, which operates under supervision of the Ministry of Culture, the country’s theme is “Taiwan Sensibility.” The pavilion will feature six sections dedicated to the topics of literature, lifestyle, images, land and travel, food and entertainment, and history.
The agency said the display will feature 550 selected books from 85 local firms to showcase the country’s vibrant publication landscape. The Taiwan delegation will comprise around 300 representatives from the country’s publishing sector, including 23 writers, cartoonists and illustrators whose works have been published in Korean, and 20 copyright professionals.
During the event’s run, the Taiwan pavilion will also organize more than 60 events including musical performances, a reception, workshops, author meet-and-greets and DIY and cultural experience sessions.
The TAICCA said this marks the fourth time that Taiwan has been featured as the guest of honor or theme nation at an international book fair, following the 2007 and 2018 editions of the Bangkok International Book Fair and the 2012 Angouleme International Comics Festival in France. (SFC-E)
