Singer Kuo Chih-yin (Chih-Chih) and the Amis band Outlet Drift will perform on July 17 and on July 18 at Colours of Ostrava, Czechia’s largest music festival.

Kuo Chih-yin’s music comes from deep affection for the natural landscape and incorporates folk music, Bossa Nova and pop. Her lyrics encompass both Chinese and Amis languages. Three-member band, Outlet Drift, integrates traditional Amis folk songs, and experimental rock and roll.

Kuo and Outlet Drift took to the stage in early April at the Tallinn Music Week in Estonia and will also perform at Drive Stage, a major venue for the Czech multi-genre event, the MOC said.

According to the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Prague’s Cultural Division, Ostrava is a former industrial hub turned cultural city and hosts several music festivals over the summer, including Czech Music Crossroads held in June, where Taiwan was guest of honor.

Founded in 2002, the four-day Colours is a large central European music festival and frequently features in lists of the top ten European festivals. The event showcases electronic, jazz, pop and world music and attracts a crowd of around 40,000 visitors a day. (POC-E)
