A total of 13 leading Taiwan bicycle and parts manufacturers exhibited 21 award-winning and representative products at the 2012 ISPO Bike Munich Aug. 16-19, according to the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA).
The exhibition, in its fourth year, included bicycles, e-bikes, parts and components, cycling apparel and peripheral products. This year 290 companies from 25 countries took part, with 52 percent from outside of Germany, TAITRA said Aug. 19.
The Taiwan delegation, organized by TAITRA and the Taiwan Bicycle Exporters’ Association, included leading firms such as Liu Yih Cable Enterprise Co. Ltd. /Alligator, Ming Cycle Industrial Co. Ltd., Forderland International Co. Ltd., Aprove Products Co. Ltd. and Leechi Enterprises Co. Ltd. In addition, 15 other bicycle-related local firms and media took part.
TAITRA said that despite a weak global economy, the forecast for bikes and related products is good given the widespread emphasis on recreation and green living. In 2011 exports of assembled bicycles and components reached US$442 million for year-on-year growth of 13.05 percent. (THN)
