The Ministry of Transportation and Communications' Tourism Administration highlighted government commitment to attracting global visitors to Taiwan with a display May 25 at Manhattan’s Union Square in New York City.
A exhibition stand was set up during the city’s largest Taiwan art and culture outdoor festival, 2025 Passport to Taiwan, organized by the Taiwanese American Association of New York (TAANY). The event is part of annual celebrations for Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month and Taiwanese American Heritage Week in May.
The TA exhibit included tourism resources such as Taoyuan City-headquartered flagship China Airlines and Eva Airways Corporation, and introduced travel information with the incentive of discounts.
TAANY coordinated over 70 stands to participate in the event with food, crafts and interactive activities, as well as performances on a main stage.
Based on information from the city’s official tourism organization, NYC Tourism + Conventions, in 2024 over 64.3 million tourists visited New York City, making it an ideal site to promote Taiwan as a travel destination, the TA stated. (POC-E)
