Taiwan continued cementing its role in the international economic and trade system on the strength of the government’s value-added diplomacy policy and the hard work of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and associated overseas offices.

According to the MOFA, the third quarter of 2025 saw a slight easing of global inflation and continued economic uncertainty stemming from U.S. tariff policies. In response to the current climate, the government has been actively collaborating with the U.S. and other democratic partners to realize President Lai Ching-te’s vision of building more resilient and diverse supply chains.

At the same time, the MOFA has been facilitating international investment by domestic businesses while actively promoting the Diplomatic Allies Prosperity Project.

Other highlights of the MOFA’s achievements include efforts to promote new energy cooperation with allies and like-minded partners through the government’s integrated diplomacy policy, including a renewed Memorandum of Understanding on Taiwan-Australia Energy and Mineral Cooperation and a delegation to explore hydrogen power opportunities in Paraguay.

The ministry also worked to deepen semiconductor supply chain cooperation and exchanges with Czechia, Italy, the Netherlands and the U.K., highlighted by the signing of the Taiwan-U.K. Memorandum of Understanding on the Semiconductor Joint Skills Project.

Progress was made on expanding Taiwan’s participation in the U.S.-Japan-Philippines Luzon Economic Corridor, in line with the goal of pursuing joint development in a third region under the Taiwan-U.S. Economic Prosperity Partnership Dialogue framework, the MOFA said.

Additionally, the ministry continued to leverage trade and economic diplomacy to promote the Ten Major AI Infrastructure Projects initiative and transform Taiwan into a global economic powerhouse. (POC-E)
