Minister of Economic Affairs Kung Ming-hsin led a delegation to Poland Dec. 9-11, spotlighting the government’s commitment to deepening democratic supply chain partnership.
Kung attended a bilateral corporate forum Dec. 10, as well as hosting the launch of the Taiwan Trade and Investment Service Center in Warsaw, where he was joined by Poland’s Konrad Wojnarowski, deputy minister of energy, and Jacek Karnowski, deputy minister for development funds and regional policy. The center is Taiwan’s fourth overseas investment hub, following others opened in Prague, Czechia; Fukuoka, Japan; and Dallas, USA, the Ministry of Economic Affairs said.
Speaking at the forum, Kung noted that Taiwan and Poland have vast untapped potential for cooperation in areas spanning artificial intelligence, drones, electric vehicles, green energy and semiconductors. He added that the two sides could leverage resources such as the Central and Eastern Europe Investment Fund set up by the National Development Council and the Polish Development Fund established by Poland’s Ministry of State Treasury to advance industry connections.
Prior to the meeting and the center’s inauguration, the minister witnessed the inking of a memorandum of understanding between the Taiwan Excellence Drone International Business Opportunities Alliance and Polish Chamber of Unmanned Systems, where he emphasized that Poland is Taiwan’s largest export market for unmanned vehicles.
As of October 2025, Taiwan’s total annual drone export volume reached US$54.75 million, 11.4 times higher than last year. Exports to Poland accounted for nearly 40 percent of the total, the ministry said. (POC-E)
