Minister of Foreign Affairs Lin Chia-lung is leading a delegation of industry representatives to Paraguay to celebrate the 68th anniversary of official ties and deepen bilateral trade relations.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lin will meet with President Santiago Peña and host a reception with his counterpart Rubén Ramírez to celebrate the robust relationship spanning 68 years.
During his stay in the South American ally, Lin will visit the Taiwan-Paraguay Smart Technology Park and the Taiwan-Paraguay Polytechnic University, as well as review progress of electric bus development and medical data management projects.
Since a key mission of Lin’s visit is to expand industrial cooperation and supply chain exchanges between the two sides, the accompanying delegation comprises representatives from Taiwan’s construction, information and communications technology, semiconductor, smart agriculture, smart transportation and high-function textile industries.
The MOFA said since taking office in May 2024, the minister has adopted integrated, values-based and alliance-based diplomatic approaches to expand Taiwan’s global engagement and transform the country into a thriving global economic powerhouse.
By sharing Taiwan’s strengths and expertise, the Allies Prosperity Project aims to promote mutual benefits, the ministry said, adding that the minister’s visit transforms Taiwan’s values-based diplomacy into value-added diplomacy, and demonstrates how Taiwan can help and Paraguay can lead. (SFC-E)
