HTC Corp.’s One mobile device was recently named Best European Advanced Smartphone for 2013-2014 by the prestigious European Imaging and Sound Association, according to the Taiwan-based company Aug. 16.

“We are delighted that six months after launch, the HTC One continues to be recognized as the best phone on the market,” HTC CEO Peter Chou said.

“This award is a testament to the hard work of our designers and engineers who never stop developing the next breakthrough innovation that will propel the industry into the next era of mobile communication and entertainment.”

According to EISA, the One has set a new standard for smartphones that competitors from around the world will aim to beat. Featuring a robust aluminum body, full high-definition 4.7-inch super liquid-crystal display screen, 4-megapixel camera, quad-core processor with 2 gigabytes of random access memory and 32 GB of built-in-memory, the smartphone is “truly One of a kind,” the association said.

Since its launch in February 2013, the One has captured honors including the Global System for Mobile Communications Association’s Best Mobile Handset, Device or Tablet and a gold medal for design and innovation from Computex Taipei.
