The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will provide satellite broadcast information for the 2025-2026 Taipei 101 New Year’s Eve fireworks event to international television networks and online media.
According to the MOFA, this year marks the first time that the Taipei 101 fireworks display has been designed in tandem with original music compositions. In collaboration with the Taipei Music Center, music selected from a competition has been integrated into the firework design, enhancing the overall narrative and visual experience of the show with a synchronized sound and light display.
The broadcast will start at 11:55 p.m. on December 31 Taipei time. Highlights from the display will be edited and uploaded to the publicly available MOFA Trending Taiwan YouTube channel.
Over the years, the Taipei 101 New Year’s Eve fireworks show has made a strong international impression and has continued to innovate by combining music and multimedia, showcasing Taiwan’s urban vitality and cultural creativity, and presenting a vivid and diverse image of Taiwan to the world.
According to Taipei 101, celebrations themed “Spark the Night” leading up to the annual fireworks display are already underway. These include an extended countdown with characters such as those from Toy Story projected onto the building each night from Dec. 27, 2025 to Jan. 1, 2026, while a three-minute light projection mapping show will also take place on New Year’s Eve to pay tribute to unsung Taiwanese heroes.
