The Taipei International Invention Show and Technomart will kick off Sept. 20, showcasing the largest ever selection of products from Taiwan and overseas in the event’s eight-year history.
More than 700 firms from 26 countries have signed up for the biggest exhibition of its kind in Asia at the Taipei World Trade Center Exhibition Hall, according to show co-organizer the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA).
“This year’s event boasts a 2,000-plus lineup of new smart living inventions and technologies,” a TAITRA official said, adding that these span sectors such as cloud computing, convenient living, health care and information and communication technology.
In addition, participating research organizations will set up 13 pavilions presenting more than 1,200 research projects in green energy, specialty textiles and transportation.
During the show’s four-day run, TAITRA will arrange 30 new product launches and 12 seminars on latest technological developments.
An ROC government-organized team will also provide on-site consultation and assistance to aspiring inventors on fostering business opportunities for their creations. This initiative is part of the government’s policy to commercialize more patents and inventions.
Other exhibition highlights include an invention competition featuring 946 patented creations submitted since 2008. The contest has received strong support from abroad, with judges comprising experts and officials from Japan, Switzerland and the U.K. (JSM)
