Taiwan’s EVA Airways Corp. won two honors for its business class wine services in this year’s Cellars in the Sky Awards organized by London-based Business Traveller magazine, according to the airline March 6.
A total 33 carriers from 28 countries participated in the competition, which recognizes airlines for their wine offerings in business and first class. EVA, headquartered in northern Taiwan’s Taoyuan City, claimed the gold medal in the Best Business Class Cellar category for the second year in a row, while also earning gold in Best Business Class Sparkling.
These honors highlight EVA’s core commitment to providing exceptional service and reflect the experiences that business class passengers enjoy on board its aircraft, the company said in a statement.
Established in 1989, the carrier regularly excels in aviation industry and travel surveys. In January, it was rated as one of the world’s 20 safest full service airlines for the fourth consecutive year by Australia-based aviation safety website Airline Ratings.
Last June, EVA became the eighth carrier to receive a five-star rating from Skytrax. One month later, it was rated by the U.K.-based air travel research group as the eighth best airline in the world, the best transpacific airline, as well as the carrier with the best business class amenities.
EVA’s Infinity Lounge at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport was also listed among Skytrax’s Top 10 Business Class Airline Lounges of 2016. Decorated with shimmering ceiling lights and elegant, curved walls, Infinity is a futuristic lounge that “takes modern to a whole new level,” CNNMoney wrote in an article published Feb. 23. (SFC-E)
