The ROC Ministry of Economic Affairs launched this year’s first matchmaking event for small and medium enterprises in Taipei City March 27, inviting 28 companies spanning the information and communication, green energy and environmental protection, as well as biotechnology sectors to launch their latest products. The event attracted more than 500 buyers and is estimated to generate NT$100 million (US$3.34 million) in business opportunities.
Taiwan’s overall economic monitoring indicator flashed yellow-blue in February for the sixth straight month, indicating that the economy is transitioning from sluggish to stable, the ROC Council for Economic Planning and Development said March 27.
The ROC Tourism Bureau announced March 27 that 100 more hotels have received star ratings, bringing the total number to 376, with 40,246 rooms. The bureau said the star rating system helps hotels establish their market position and upgrade service quality. (SDH)
