Focusing on apparel design and textile R&D, the 10th edition of the four-day biannual event features 196 brands and designers from 14 countries and territories. Participants’ latest and greatest creations are set to take center stage during 17 sessions of house and trunk shows, matchmaking sessions and seminars.
Major retailers participating in the event include Hong Kong’s Yun San Corp., Galeries Lafayette and MAP Group from Indonesia, Japan-based H. P. France, Mitsukoshi Ltd. and Parco Co. Ltd., Hyundai Department Store of South Korea and Malaysia-headquartered Parkson Retail Group.
TTF Secretary-general Justin Huang said the fall edition of TIS serves as a platform for cross-border procurement, facilitating exchanges between designers and retailers based in different locations across Asia.
In addition to establishing Taipei as a regional hub for the Asian fashion industry, Huang said TIS aims to promote local designers’ overseas presence. “We expect Taiwan brands to benefit from enhanced collaboration with regional partners in textile manufacturing and market exploration going forward.” (YHC-JSM)
