Soaring temperatures
March 06, 2018
Scattered clouds dot the sky over Dawu Township in southeastern Taiwan’s Taitung County March 5 as temperatures soared to 36.6 degrees Celsius, the hottest documented anywhere in Taiwan so far this year. The high, recorded at 12:28 p.m., was attributed to a Foehn wind, a dry draft in the downwind side of a mountain range, according to the Central Weather Bureau. (CNA)
