A video promoting Taiwan produced by a pair of famous YouTubers has been viewed more than five million times on the online platform after it was released Dec. 21, spotlighting the country’s friendliness and diversity for a global audience.
Created by Nuseir Yassin from Israel and Alyne Tamir from the U.S., the clip titled “Asia’s Secret Country” highlights Taiwan’s democracy, health care system, natural landscapes, technological prowess, and convenience. It also features visits to tourist attractions such as National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall and Taipei 101.
A highlight is Yassin’s meeting with President Tsai Ing-wen, who reaffirms Taiwan’s free, democratic and open society. Tsai also expressed her appreciation on Twitter Dec. 24 for the pair’s efforts introducing the country to a new audience.
Yassin and Tamir visited Taiwan as winners of a trailblazing sleepover promotion granting 10 groups a chance to stay one night at a 46-square-meter suite in the Presidential Office compound running from Oct. 8 through the end of December.
Organized by the PO, Taipei City-based General Association of Chinese Culture, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tourism Bureau under the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, and Taiwan Visitors Association, the competition has seen winners from Canada, France, Germany, Hungary, India, Japan, Korea, Poland and Thailand take advantage of this unique opportunity.
Evangeline Tang, supervisor of GACC’s media and communications department, said she hoped the video had piqued the interest of viewers and inspired them to find out more about Taiwan. The country looks forward to welcoming people from around the world wishing to experience first-hand the many attractions on offer, she added. (YCH-E)
