The Foreign Relations and Worship Committee of the Argentine National Chamber of Deputies recently passed four resolutions expressing sympathy for the Hualien earthquake. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its sincere gratitude and welcomed the gesture.
Resolutions were respectively proposed by Julio Cobos, second vice president of the chamber, Fernando Iglesias, chair of the foreign relations and worship committee, Ricardo López Murphy, chair of the national defense committee, and Marilú Quiróz, chamber member. The motions were supported by other chamber members, regardless of party affiliation.
Each resolution expressed Argentine congressional concern for the April 3 earthquake and the hope for the people of Taiwan to return to normal life as soon as possible.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its sincere gratitude to the many Argentine friends for their warm voices of sympathy. MOFA said that Taiwan hopes to continue to deepen exchanges with Argentina and build a mutually beneficial substantive cooperative relationship on the basis of the shared values of democracy and freedom.
