Taiwan and the U.S. hosted consultations June 21 in Taipei City on expanding Taiwan’s meaningful participation in the U.N. system and other international fora, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

The one-day event was convened by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the U.S. and the American Institute in Taiwan, and involved representatives from the MOFA and the U.S. Department of State, the ministry added.

During the consultations, the State Department said Taiwan’s world-class expertise offers considerable added value in tackling today’s most urgent challenges, including in international public health, food security, aviation safety and climate changes.
