Formerly idle rice paddies of the indigenous Amis in Fengbin Township, Hualien County, are under cultivation once again. Tribal artist Sumi Dongi urged locals to resume planting five years ago, resulting in the creation of an oasis of organic agriculture. The story was made into "Wawa No Cidal," the film winning the Audience Choice Award in the 2015 Taipei Film Festival. (Courtesy of Sumi Dongi)
