The PL-1B Chieh-shou trainer, designed and manufactured by the ROC’s Aero Industry Development Center, takes to the skies once again Jan. 24 in the U.S. Bearing the number 5849, meaning it was constructed in 1958 as the 49th of the same model, the PL-1B is listed as the only airworthy ROC-built plane by the Federal Aviation Administration.
