The sixth season of “Taiwan Revealed,” a documentary series co-produced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Discovery Channel, will premiere June 22 at 10 pm on the Discovery Channel in Taiwan.

The program will receive global release in July, going out to countries in South and Southeast Asia. Episodes will later be available through Discovery’s YouTube channel.

According to the MOFA, the latest season features the smart machinery of the National Development Council’s five-plus-two innovative industries plan, focusing on Taiwan’s expertise in self-driving cars, industrial robots and smart factories. The program also traces the evolution of industry from Industry 3.0’s computerization and automation to Industry 4.0’s big data and artificial intelligence, enabling the audience to follow how Taiwan became a research and manufacturing leader on a global scale.

MOFA and Discovery Channel have jointly produced six seasons showcasing Taiwan’s contributions to various fields. The previous five seasons cover areas including humanitarian endeavors, ecological protection efforts, medical advancements, technology and agriculture, MOFA said.

“Taiwan Revealed” has created a compelling introduction to the country’s culture and values, winning an Asia Television Award and providing the global community with a better understanding of Taiwan. (POC-E)
