2019 Creative Expo Taiwan gets underway April 24 in Taipei City, highlighting the country’s dynamic cultural and creative industry and internationally renowned spirit of innovation.

Organized by the Ministry of Culture and Taiwan Design Center, the 12-day event is taking place at Huashan 1914 Creative Park, Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, Taipei Expo Park, Taiwan Contemporary Culture Lab and Taiwan Railways Workshop.

The expo is intended to spotlight Taiwan’s aesthetics, cultural diversity and creativity. Its theme, Culture on the Move, was selected to best reflect the fluid nature of Taiwan’s culture and array of historical influences.

According to the MOC, more than 570 exhibitors will showcase related products spanning such areas as arts, crafts, design and fashion at various high foot-traffic locations. In addition, expogoers can learn more about the different aspects of the country’s multifaceted culture via activities like bazaars, concerts, exhibitions, food, and film screenings.

Another attraction is the four special booths run by Taoyuan City in northern Taiwan, Taitung County in southeastern Taiwan, and Pingtung County and Tainan City in southern Taiwan. The shopfronts will draw the curtain back on a tantalizing selection of regional culture, signature products and tourism attractions.

Inaugurated in 2010, the annual expo plays a key role in the strategic promotion of the cultural and creative industry by the MOC. The sector was first included in the national development plan in 2002, and further prioritized following promulgation of the Law for the Development of the Cultural and Creative Industries in 2010.
