Taiwan movie “More Than Blue” is featuring in the Washington DC International Film Festival running April 25 to May 5 in the U.S. capital.

Participating with support from the Ministry of Culture and Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the U.S., the 2018 release by director Gavin Lin is a touching romantic drama charting the relationship between isolated student K and rebellious girl Cream.

The pair, played by Jasper Liu and Ivy Chen respectively, becomes inseparable after losing their families. When K is diagnosed with leukemia, he dedicates himself to helping Cream find love before his time runs out.

"More Than Blue” is a remake of a 2009 South Korean movie. It was screened at last year’s Busan International Film Festival and proved a critical and box-office success upon its release.

The 33rd edition of Filmfest DC comprises screenings of more than 80 movies from 45 countries and territories. Program highlights include FoodFlix, Trust No One, the Lighter Side and Global Rhythms, selections spotlighting international films in the genres of food, espionage and crime, comedy, and music, respectively.
