The logo for Taiwan’s 2021 Double Tenth National Day celebration was unveiled Sep. 8, highlighting the country’s steadfast commitment to freedom and democracy, according to the organizing committee.

The theme of this year’s edition emphasizes the fostering of global friendships with democracies around the world, said Chen Tsung-yen, secretary-general of the committee. It conveys Taiwan’s economic and trade connections with like-minded partners while promoting stability in the Indo-Pacific region, he added.

This year’s logo consists of six intertwined ropes, respectively representing democracy, equality, freedom, hope, human rights and peace, showcasing the commitment of the government and people to these universal values, the committee said.

The dominant color of the logo is sunshine gold, which the committee said symbolizes the preciousness of democracy, while the two secondary colors, red and green, represent the country and democracy.

Democracy is the guiding star of Taiwan values, Chen said. It is the foundation upon which the country can go out into the world and be recognized by the international community, he added. (DL-E)
