Two Taiwan digital artists were chosen by SODAS 2123 cultural center in Lithuania’s capital Vilnius, to undertake a two-month residential program between Aug. 1 to Nov. 30, according to the Ministry of Culture.

The cultural division of the Taipei Representative Office in Germany and the Taipei City-based Association of the Visual Arts in Taiwan in cooperation with SODAS 2123, invited applications in March this year. It was the first time the three entities had cooperated and two artists were chosen from among seven applicants.

The digital artists chosen were Po-Yuan Juan and Jung Hsu, Taipei National University of the Arts graduate and Berlin University of the Arts graduate student, respectively. AVAT will arrange for the two artists to share their experiences following the conclusion of the residential project.

SODAS 2123 is located in Vilnius’ old city and since its launch in 2020, creators have contributed to cultural events and residential programs at the center. The MOC said it hopes the program will give rise to further art collaboration between Taiwan and Lithuania. (POC-E)
