The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will participate in the 2024 SDG Asia expo Aug. 8-10 at the Taipei World Trade Center to showcase its progress on sustainable development goals.

This is the first time that MOFA has showcased United Nations SDG projects undertaken in collaboration with domestic nongovernmental organizations. Gender equality, environmental sustainability and humanitarian aid projects in line with UN SDGs and used as soft power vehicles will also be displayed.

The exhibit will be centered around climate action, education quality, hunger elimination, global partners and health welfare. Progress on work to join the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and World Health Organization is a part of MOFA’s display.

The Ministry of Transport and Communications alignment with the nation’s 2050 net zero transition policies in sustainable transportation and green travel will also be showcased at 2024 SDG Asia.

2024 SDG Asia is organized by Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy, which works to implement U.N. SDGs in Taiwan, including those on biodiversity, climate change and sustainable energy. It holds competitions and forums to inform business, government, NGOs, and schools about sustainability, the MOFA added. (POC-E)
